Yeah, good to meet the regular faces and a few new ones. Not the biggest meet but certainly not the smallest. No pictures from me this time, Frizzle was a bit snap-happy today haha. And great car there too, very nice. Send us a message with pics about the Rota's and we can go from there

Great to meet up as usual. If I never see another s202 again I'll be happy, rare, poppycock, more chance of a spec c ra-r being in the same car park alongside a hatch sti and a 520 bhp hawkeye. Whatever next, neon lights....

Thanks as always for organising and drive safe. Hopefully see you at the next meet

Yeah - just seen it!
Those wheels are optional fit on the 'Sport' and as for a bit of wheel turn - do you really want to see age cracked Chinese tread pattern?

*GASPS* Wash your mouth out! PINK wheels!? PINK!!??

I'm disappointed John, I'd like to think after all these years you'd know I'm not the sort! My goodness! PINK!
And on a Spec C?! My dear boy, if I ever felt the need to commit such an atrocity I would gladly hand over the keys to someone more deserving.

Pink. PA!

Even the poor Sport wasn't subjected to such horrors.

You'll be relieved to hear I have merely taken ownership of some nice, simple, beautifully maintained OEM STi alloys courtesy of Looie, which are for winter tyres.

In silver- I hasten to add!

Took me 33 years to realise my automotive dream.
Dreams shouldn't be left dreams, you appreciate it more when you graft for them.
I know how much you've wanted one and for how long.
Amazing achievement to get there, you should be proud.

It's true though mate. I know how hard Zo has worked to achieve that cr and it's awesome.

So I sold GP 622 about 3 weeks ago and after lots and lots of weighing up I finally pulled the trigger on a Porsche.
So here she is, Peridot green Cayman R, manual, Carbon seats and spyder wheels. Also has a few mods inc a load of special bits, titanium exhaust and billet TCAs, uprated brakes, IPD plenum, GT3 throttle body and MASE engineering map.

I've had a go in one of these and it handled like nothing I've ever driven.

Never seen the Cayman in this colour. Very nice indeed!

Chalk and cheese come to mind mate.

The Porsche is in a totally different league when I comes to handling, poise and balance, however T26 is much easier to drive faster. The R takes a lot of getting used to and feeling the chassis move about under you is quite entertaining.
It's feel and feedback is phenomenal, likewise it's noise, smoothness and power delivery is just so beautifully engineered. The brakes are mighty and steering is scalpel sharp. Gearbox is bolt action rifle stuff, yet the whole thing still feels very analogue in a digital age.
It's faster than it's numbers suggest too, it's only 365bhp but long geared and only 1290kg thanks to the rather unique diet the R comes with.
2nd gear will see 80mph and full tilt in 6th is 180mph.

T26 is just brutal and nothing less even comes close for a white knuckle, gritted teeth drive. T26 you have to remember was very well developed with its dampers, roll bars, bushes and braces etc. It had a lot of bits on that really made it work. In the real world it was outrageous and nothing short of a big power GTR would ever hold a candle to it. In reality it was way too fast for the road and couldn't be used in 90% of situations.

The R is the perfect blend of ingredients in my mind and has just the right amount of power and weight. Build quality is exquisite as is its looks. It's an achingly pretty car, something the Subaru never will be.

For me it's everything I've ever wanted in a road going Porsche short of a GT3.
I could have bought a Turbo but I didn't want one, as I believe the perfect Porsche is Naturally aspirated, RWD and manual transmission.

The R is a very unique car and hopefully will at least hold its money if not appreciate by some margin. I didn't buy it for that though, I've wanted a special flat 6 for as long as I can remember, and this is as special to drive as they come.
