Raspberry Pi in car PC with ecu abilities
Hey guys,
Today I had the idea of gettin my in car PC idea off the group to fit in with remapping, I started this back in dec last year and laid it to rest when I could not get romraider working correctly, however today I managed to logging correctly working, this should also mean I am able to setup a media centre and be able to flash my car.
Heres a short ish vid of it running, hopefuly get a more in depth one sorted soon.

Looks cool,
always wondered what a pi is capable of, tech is way out of my league though. Are you saying you could potentially remap the car from this thing?

The pi is powerful enought to run romraider to change maps like you would on a laptop however I have not tested if ECU flash will run.... I will update this thread when ive tested it.
As for what it can it, every logging mode should work not tested if a wideband will work via the plugins.

Looks great! Is the romraider logging thing available as a command line tool?
I'd love to have some cheap PI logging in my track car, but I don't want the weight penalty of a screen, keyboard etc etc so I'd have to have something that starts logging at the press of a button or similar (maybe a numeric keyboard - they're small and light).

You could always connect a button to the GPIO pins and have the PI run a simple Python script via cron @reboot which in turn runs your desired commands when pressing the button. This would completely eliminate the keyboard.
Not sure about the RomRaider support for "auto logging on startup" though. Didn't have the time to look at the code. However there is the option of starting/stopping the logger via the defogger switch once romraider is connected.
