Default CEL LIGHT 05 WRX

Hi
We've had problems with our wrx 05. The cel came on just before Christmas so we plugged the car in and it came back with p0171. I was advised to clean maf and replace 1st o2 sensor, which I did. Cleared fault codes and all was good for a week or so! On Friday the cel came back on again, plugged car back into reader and it didn't read any faults but light still on!?!? This seems a bit strange to me. Has anyone else experienced this? Car has stock exhaust and air box.
Cheers
Lee

What software are you using to read the fault?

I used a maxiscan ms309, it connects to the car ok but doesn't pick up any faults! Car drives fine after changing sensor and cleaning maf.

Clean the MAF again and clear the CEL

If it comes on again the would say its probably the MAF going. SO many issues with them

Just been looking under bonnet and have found the stock turbo inlet hose at the turbo end has gone all soft and split around where it clamps on!! I'm supposing this would cause the cel to come on?
I think my cheap eBay code reader doesn't work!

What one did you buy most seem decent enough

Get the inlet changed as well especially if you are using the car a lot

maxiscan ms309 was the code reader I bought, it connects to the car but doesn't give any codes even though the cel is on!!

Default Code reader

Where are you in wilts? I've got a copy of freeSSM (Subaru Select Monitor) and ROM raider if you are anywhere near Bracknell? Happily plug it in to a laptop for you?

Thanks for the offer but we are a long way from Bracknell. Will be taking the car to Triton motorsport in the week and they will plug it in! Was just after a bit of advise on here. But now I've found the split in the inlet hose I'm thinking that is what's causing the cel!!
Cheers
