Don't you fancy doing it yourself? There are a few lads on here who DIY map with ESL including me,brings the costs right down and is good fun leaning about exactly how the car runs

Have a read through the manual,if you can understand it then you shouldn't be worried about DIY mapping. Just make small changes and do plenty of logging.
Can't help you with Andy Carr's number but I know he spends some time at Richard Henry Motorsports in Bradford, might be worth giving them a ring.

Keep it off boost and you should be fine, Andy even says that on his website.

How you getting on with yours?

Still not decided what to do with mine, put it on the back burner until i get body work sorted out. Done cambelt and new intercoolrer, have new injectors ready to fit and rear 2 pot callipers. To many jobs to do.

I know what you're saying jay, list of jobs with theses cars is never ending.
I'm getting on well with the ESL,had some practice on the RA and had it running sweet, then it got stolen (still miss it)
New Scooby had ESL already fitted but tbh it didn't drive well on he remap that had been done, overboosting and not a very smooth power delivery at all!
I have done some changes to the map and sorted the overboost/fuel cut and got it spooling earlier with a smoother delivery, also running mafless and the IAT sensor is incorrectly fitted?!?! I'm not slating the mapper, and I'm pretty sure the mapper who did this car knows his stuph, but I have very little experience and had it running miles better in a couple of days. So mapper was either having a bad day(we all have em) or just a lazy/rushed map!
Anyway can't do to much until I get my WB so I can dial in the fuel correctly, then work on the timing map

Ah yea, keep forgetting you had it stolen. Its even worse when its a nice example, wouldn't be as bothered if it was rough. As you could reinvest.

Don't be put off from saying the mapper did a pants job, i'm sure theres plenty of poor mappers out there, and some who just rush though some jobs. Always best to get it mapped after the mappers had his dinner

Sounds like you know what your doing. I still keep reading though the esl manual see if i can make sense of it all, would love to map it myself.

Think just gives you abit more pride in your car if you have mapped it yourself.

Too rite jay
It took me a good 3 reads of the manual before I dare touch the map,but now I'm used to the software, only make small changes and plenty of logging. Oh and had some great help from some of the members on here who know what they're on about

I just love the fact that I can plug in the laptop and log all the data, get graphs and telemetry on what the car is doing on my journeys,I'm also rigging up a windows tablet so I can easily look at all the live data, even make tweaks on the fly.
Really is a cool piece of kit

Very easy to wire a switch in mate, have a look at the ESL Motorsport manual, all instructions in there,by default your ecu should be set to switch mask 64.
I have my LC on 128 which is permanently on and ALS on a switch.
If your not confident enough to DIY then any good auto electrician will have no problems with it.

Just double with check with Andy but as far as I know the default switch mask should be set to 64 for LC&ALS if it is then just wire it up as the manual says,it will just need one switch to work both.
Like I said I changed my LC to 128(always on) but if you don't have the cable then you will just have to use default.

I do like the idea of mapping my engine. I had that idea aswell about using a tablet for mapping that can be install in the car. If you do manage to get windows tablet up and running let me know be interested how you get on

Could do with a better tablet as this one's a little bulky,I've mounted it with a cheap CD mount but works well and is quiet handy to have.

No way thats a nice setup

It would be amazing if you could mount in the dash, like you can do with the Ipad adaptors. But then it would have to work as a stereo too, might get abit complicated, so where you have it most likely best place.
