Not really. I posted correct information at the time of the debate. And because obviously I spent a year looking for that piece of information.... get a grip

Just thought it was simple enough for Andy stevens to understand, the other information may have been a bit complex for him

No you're just a ***** with nothing better to do than following me round a website belittling me.

Everyone was new once upon a time. But you seem too obtuse to realise this....

The power fc used a box called a mafsim to run mafless on the impreza, I wanted one back in the day but they had crap reliability and stopped working randomly. Hence you dont hear about them anymore

Well its a change from you doing it to everyone else, if you ain't got it an all that.
Think you should just go back on your vacation like you did before. Was much better hearing less of your crap that you pass onto others.

Have you checked for fault codes or reset the ECU?
You're using the correct procedure to switch maps? It is possible to disable map switching but doubt a mapper would do this?

That's a v1.2a chip , no switchable map on these

It would of come maf or mafless , you can't switch between the 2 with this version either .

I can't see it being a map issue , the Eprom doesn't just loose it's boost settings

Your actuator maybe faulty but I see your getting it looked at tomorrow

You're about to wish you'd left it when you were behind Glands-ah, instead of digging the hole deeper.

In case anyone is still listening to the troll, you absolutely cannot run an Apexi MAFless on a Subaru. The conversion mentioned a decade ago was a piggyback lookup table called mafsim (already mentioned by folk on the thread who know what they are talking about (i.e. literally everyone except Glands)) which never worked and you cannot buy.

Apexi PFCs designed to go mafless are called D-Jetro models. There was never a D-Jetro model for the Impreza.

To go mafless on ESL, you select the MAFless enabale parameter and select MAP based load instead of MAF based load from the drop down box.

At the beginning of the post, the troll said you would be better to stick with an Apexi than go to ESL. This is a remarkably stupid statement for all the reasons mentioned here: http://www.enduringsolutions.com/esl-vs-apexi-pfc/

As for not knowing much, I write the software for the system that we have sold over 1200 of globally, and run mapping courses that sell out and receive alot of positive feedback (next one is on the 15th November at Cambridge), so I'd have to disagree.

For those interested, I've qualified for the second year running for Gymkhana Grid with Ken Block and Petter Solberg with the ESL managed STi5 in Athens, Greece on the 29th/30th of October. It will be televised internationally, so be sure to tune in.

You can be a bit of a wind up merchant sometimes mate, especially when it comes to ESL for some reason??
What kind of response would you deem acceptable when you slate ESL at every opportunity?
Have you ever mapped with ESL? Do you even know how to map?
Do you think that the facts you have stated are correct and facts of one ESL developers is wrong??
I run ESL mafless and it runs perfect!
Not a statement I would be saying if I ran apexi!

I doubt it. So hardly a statement of fact.

The facts were, apexi can if someone wanted to run mafless is possible. Maybe not the best. But possible..

I've run and mapped both. As previously stated I was happy with the Apexi which does its job well. I changed to esl as it has better features (mafless, knock control, twin maps, motorsport options) and support direct from manufacturer. There is nothing I need that the apexi had that esl doesn't apart from the commander. Instead of the pricey commander I use a 7" windows tablet live in the car. Also, sourcing and buying the fc datalogit and software for the apexi at £250 ish was a pain and expensive.

Hope this helps.

Its the one Ben recommended on the course although a 10" would be better. My 7" cost £42 delivered and its branded linx.
