Default Terraclean

hi guys,

I was looking at this Terraclean thing where a service guys cleans your injectors and fuel system etc etc and went along and had my WRX hatch done and just pulling away down the road the car felt so different.... even before it was very responsive but now it is instant etc....

time will tell when I go to the places I normally go during the course of the week but the guy who done my car said it would improve the MPG so we will see.

just thought I would share this with you as my car has full service etc so why not do the parts that never really get cleaned or replaced.

Sounds good. Where are they based or is there more than one place they do it?

they have people all over the country who can do it if you google Terraclean you can find out your nearest guy.

it was £120 and in all took around an hour to do the full job .... the car was run for about 20-30 mins at 1500-2000 RPM to clean injectors etc etc and then left to idle for a minute or two. Then all fuel pipes were reconnected and started just to make sure no leaks and that was it job done.

Had my 00MY Classic done a few weeks ago. Subjectively seems 'cleaner' on pick up.

MOT results

C0 <0.20 % vol: Actual was 0.01 %
HC <200ppm vol: Actual 0 ppm
Lambda 0.970 - 1.030: Actual 1.005
Other CO test <0.30%: Actual 0%

That's an easy pass then !

Just out of interest, did it make any difference to the MPG and now any potential placebo effect has worn off, would you still recommend it?

Had my 2005 STI done the other day, then drove 500 miles next day averaged about 32mpg, usually get about 26mpg... yet to see if it lasts, unfortunately won't be driving it for about 3 weeks now though. Very good 1st impression though! Oh and it does seem more responsive etc as well....

it does still seem to be very responsive but as for MPG gain I would say yes but not more than maybe 1-2 mpg more

Yeah don't forget my 32mpg was on long motorway trip, not normal everyday driving. Although 26mpg was best I could ever get out of it whatever I did!

I had this done around 18 months ago, got an extra 2mpg, smoother throttle response and much less jerkiness, but the effect doesnt last, emissions were very low at the mot though.
