Default ESL air temperature sensor

Hi all, when I first had esl fitted and mapped I went mafless.

Now I have a fmic my question is; am I supposed to re fit the air temp sensor just before the tb?

The only air temp sensor I can see is the plastic probe thingy that runs off the same part of loom as the now redundant maf.

From reading up it looks as tho people do away with that sensor and use the two wires from it to connect up a new sensor to sit in the fmic pipework before the tb.

Does that sound right?

Mapper didn't advise about this.

Is it 100% crucial? The sensor at the moment used to sit in the plastic Intake shroud that was positioned above the driver headlight area. Obviously now with the fmic fitted the housing cant be used so the sensor has been left underneath the air filter.

Is this ok to leave like this?

And if I do fit the sensor to the fmic pipework do I need yet another map tweak?

Best as close to the tb as possible, a boss can be welded into the fmic pipework or tim at jt inovations sells a coupler pipe.

Ok cool thanks for that.

Couple questions.

Am I correct in thinking the two wires from the new sensor then need wiring in to same bit of loom that the old air temp sensor is/was? (one that was located inside plastic shroud thing above headlight)

Do I need to get the map tweaked again?

Am I ok to run with it how it is currently? Just until I get the parts sorted

Yeh uses the same wiring just extend it with the loom supplied with the sensor, im pretty sure the new sensor will need calibrated in the map to have it reading correctly.
