Default Changing gearbox require map?

Probably a stupid question but if you changing from a 5 speed to a 6 speed do you need a map tweak?
Cheers Mark

Cheers, thought the same. I'll contact AFP. Just thought with the amount of people making this change it would have been common knowledge.

most of the ECU's have a set of tables to let the car know what gear it's in - also the neutral position switch might be different depending on which box you've switched too. Should be an easy task to update your map with the ratio stuph from the car you've nicked the box from

Thanks, it's a v5 type R with a jdm 5 speed dccd coming out and a jdm 6 speed dccd going in. Ive tried to source the closest box to the original.

ahhh I don't have a rom file for one of those you'd need to check with an ECUtek mapper if they need updating or not.
