Default Why is my desktop background zoomed in?

Probably a simple answer! Whenever I save a picture to the desktop as a screensaver its zoomed in slightly. how do i adjust this? The internet explorer is normal at 100% zoom. I assume there's another setting I can alter so the desktop isnt zoomed in. The icons are slightly larger also. It on Windows 7 btw

Thanks in advance.
