I used iMyfone Umate which you install on Windows, not as an app on the phone.

I'm not wrong at all, these apps are pointless. You're wrong thinking they're not available for iOS.

https://developer.apple.com/library/...mOverview.html

"Your app should remove files from this directory when they are no longer needed; however, the system may purge this directory when your app is not running."

So you did something that would have happened anyway.

You would have thought, but I did clear the apps list so no apps were running or loaded in the background and then restarted the phone before I ran the utility. Either way, the evidence speaks for itself, at least in my case. Why don't you give it a go, freed space is free space.

It doesn't get used much as its more of a backup phone, the battery usage is up and down. Taken off charge today at 6.30 am with light use I have 80% left now but I have days where I have not used the phone and similar time charge to now and gave 28% left. I have also saw the phone die in an hour with no use when I had 50% battery.

I never use wifi and I don't use Bluetooth.

Sounds like a dodgy app then as if it was battery you wouldn't get good days, every day would be poor life. I'd suggest installing something like DU Battery Saver and see what is using the battery up.

Sorry, but why wouldn't you want the flexibility to do absolutely as you please with YOUR device?

Nothing is stopping you from doing exactly what you want with your device, there's just no need. You want the tail wagging the dog crack on.
