Question ****** What is my Password?

I use a desktop PC in my office but now have a laptop to use at home. The desktop has been used to access a number of sites with a Password stored so when I go info site I just get ***** showing as my Password. But how do I find out what this Password actually is so I can then register my favourite sites on my laptop? If I try the "Forgotten your Password" option I am usually given the choice of registering a new Password but I want to keep the original one.

So how do I find out what the ****** things are?

Thanks, dl

what browser do you use ?
On Chrome you go into settings, advanced settings, manage passwords, highlight site in question, then click "show"

also in Chrome if you sign in on main PC (you may need a gmail account), then sign in on laptop/tablet and sync the browser all will be there.

Depends on the browser (and version) you're using David. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome?

If it's a fairly recent versioin of IE have a look at option one here: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials...ew-remove.html

Just enter the password you always like to use in the new password option even if it's the same one. I have done this lots of times with no issues.

I have Explorer but don't know what version? Can't seem to find out which version. Tired "properties" but no luck

When I try this I am usually told to reset password. If I use same one then I am told it is already in use and I have to choose another.

In control panel, go into "credential manager"

It will show your ********* in there to the websites you visit

But you have the option of displaying the actual password

(you have to be a local administrator on the laptop)

Install Chrome, import all settings and passwords from whatever browser you use, then follow the instructions for Chrome given above.
