Could someone with a UK MY98 - MY00 (ie with clear lenses) do me a favour?

I have just had a garage try to tell me that my lights dip the wrong way, and that you can tell this by the "arrow" on the light lens pointing to the passenger side.

Could someone with a genuine, UK delivered, car go to the car park and check if their lights have an "arrow" on them, and if so, which way it points?

The arrow is on the lens, in the centre close to the centre grill.

The chap also told me that my wheel offsets were wrong (p1 wheels), and that I had a bent wishbone. If he's talking bollocks about this, they could be talking bollocks about the bent wishbone too.

Nick.

You should be able test this theory by shining the headlights against a wall.

If the lights are correct the kickup will appear on the nearside of the car (see first diagram):

I take it the car is not old enough to be MOT'd yet?

I don't think it will fail just because the arrows are the wrong way round on the lens providing the aim and light pattern is correct.

Just looked at a selection of other lights in the car park. They're all pointing to the passenger side.

I think the bloke was talking bollocks.

This rather makes me wonder if I do need a new wishbone at 159.77+VAT + labour...

Oops just re-read your first post regarding the direction of the arrows.

The arrows on the Morrettes fitted to my car also point to the passenger side which does make sense for a car driven on the left side of the road (well I think it makes sense anyway).

Ask them to show you where the wishbone is bent (in comparison to the other side)

They've shown me that. The bush on one side has no clearance, and the same bush on the other side has 1/8 inch clearance on it. But which side is right ?
