As far as I can tell it either replaces or is atatched to the cars ECU. It is used to completely re-map the ECU(or replace it). Thus enabling the Turbo to be set around 1.4bar on my98 anyway. Bear in mind I have been told a must is to have the front mount intercooler to gain real benefits.
