how will they fair?

I have an invitation to a track day but thinking that my brakes wont last..

what does anyone else think?

 

they will last if you are ind to them and do a few laps and then a cool down lap my first trip to knockhil pursuaded me that the alcon brake kit was a good idea...

GO and ENJOY yourself to many people get bogged down in 'what ifs' IMO

 

u see... i was thinking of getting quality 16" brakes... coz i know id be able to last longer

but... if my std 4 pots would give me some fun... thatll do nicely

 

My standard 4 pots where smokin' [literally] on their last trip out....

It might be a good idea to get some new pads on or have them with you in case you fry the originals on the day - you can easily see how much you have. The 4 pots are OK, but benefit from pads, lines, fluid and better discs.

 

If you've got a decent amount of pad thickness left, they'll be fine, whatever they are.

You should, however, be careful about judging the brake performance when you're out. If you reckon they're fading / spungy, into the pits with you and let'em cool down for ten.

Remember to take a brick (or a half brick) with you so you don't have to use the hand brake in the pits.

I've had the **** taken out of me for taking / using a brick but it's better than welding your pads to the discs

The thing that surprises me is that; for all the bricks that are taken to K/H, why aren't there ever any there ? I reckon there's someone building a house nearby for free

 

i think theres alot of life in the pads... got em fitted in january.. about 6k miles ago... so they should be ok...

i dont wanna push it loads on the circuit... just wanna go round for sake of going round

ill take a couple o' bricks ...

my rear pads are low... but that shouldnt matter eh... coz the braking will be done by the front...
