Question

Does anyone know the 0-60 time of a standard (280bhp) WRX? I'm hopefully buying one this week.

Probably around 4.6/4.8 seconds......

But it depends on the driver and the abuse!

Oh and if the car is running correctly and set up well!

Adrian,

280 wont be the figure in the UK.... On our fuel a WRX MY97 would show around 260 on genuine rollers.

If you were able to get the 280 ..... and you connected a knock link to monitor det you would get FLASH det !! not healthy.

Still WRX models live more happily in the UK than STi's, speaking as an owner of a STiV. I personally have had a new ECU (GEMS) mapped up for the UK specs.... I have around 300 BHP with 300lbs of torque. Hence the figures you do see quoting 280 and above on basically standard models... are very .. how can I say ... optimistic.

Very much depends on how brutal you are with the gearbox etc... i own a similar car and running is normally with just dump valve and super power flow induction, i get around 4.8/9 with it, but if you fit an Apexi R boost controller in it and use the scramble boost feature and you are willing to give the gearbox some stick you can do it in 4.1/2 but watch the box !

I have a my00 fitted with center decat prodrive back box, Im wanting the ppp ecu and hope to get around 250bhp. Whats the most bhp i can run on the standard drivetrain, Just incase i go for 300bhp with the standard ecu remaped, and what other modes will i need to get 300bhp.
Bugget is £1500 todate.

Thanks

The standard drivetrain isnt your biggest restriction, that comes down to the turbo, which wont make 300bhp, though you will have to upgrade and remap, exhaust also.
Remap will be about 650 quid, new bigger turbo will be about 800 quid, exhaust will be about 500-600 quid, and its probably worth decatting it with these mods.
Other option is remap and exhaust, get you around 270-280bhp on your standard setup.
