hi, very greatful if anyone could answer this.

i know how the old style of bosch le-jetronic work, the ones with the flap, but how does the hot-wire one work on a scooby?

i.e. how does a wire sense air flow, and change the signal to a voltage?

thanks, ian.

I *think* it works by having the wire at a certain temperature.

As more air flows past it this cools the wire so more voltage is supplied to bring it to temperature.

The ECU calculates the flow from the voltage change.

I might be totally wrong, but thats how i understand it.

Cheers

Here's some good docs. You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the first and last ones.

Ian,

the car jacking was a success (must return that balaclava to you ) although it was absolutely chucking it down and it was dark. That'll teach me to watch the football first.
