With my 3rd gear I can feel something grinding. I have shown it to the dealer but said it was normal. You cannot hear any noise, but feel something grind inside when you leave your hand on top of the gear ****.

The rest of the gears are smooth. Can there be a problem with the PP quickshift, synchromesh?

I had the same problem with 3rd & 4th MY97, hopefully yours isn't the syncromesh, gear selectors and new gears, which was the problem with mine

Was this a big job? I have taken my car to the dealers, but they could not fault anything and the car is still under warranty.

 

Hi mate,

It was big in terms of both parts and labour, thankfully it was under warranty, or the bill would been about £1500, I think. I had the clutch replaced at the same time.
