Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessus!!!

Just driving in traffic through Macclesfield and one turned into a side road in front of me, giving it a squirt in the process. Rule Britannia! You can keep your poncey Maranellos. It made all the hairs on my neck leap to attention!

Hello

One of the guys at work has one, and they are indeed awesome.

As for the "Rule Britannia" -- you know that Aston are owned by Ford right?

Steve.

Ferrari is owned by the same people who make bubble cars and no-one seems to mind.

Ah OK, I saw one around Reading a couple of months back - maybe the same one. Having said that, there's a dealer near the stadium isn't there

Hello

Yep. I actually work in Green Park, just opposite the Aston Martin dealer.

hehe, true. Having said that being "owned by" is quite different to having hand-out chassis', engines, switchgear from a parent company (and then not assembling them in the way real Astons are assembled) (and I'm talking current models)

Aston Martin maybe owned by Ford but they are still built by the same bloke in the same shed up north as they were when DB (forgot his name ) started the company, anyway Jag is also owned by ford and Landrover aswell.

Bzzt. Wrong.

The DB7 is built on a production line in Bloxham in the TWR sheds (another Jaguar link).

They're not hand crafted like the old V8s are/were.

This may be so DB, but you have to admit they do look, and sound the absolute dogs! It's just a shame you can't buy them with a proper clutch.

Well, I can't argue with people's personal preferences, but they don't do anything for me. They look too similar to a XK8 for my liking (and has too much Escort switchgear for an £80K car)

The Virage-bodied V8 Vantage, the 500-600bhp cars were the utter bo11ocks though and represent true Astons.
