Not wanting to jump on Markus's thunder ;) (if you've already planned something from your thread a few weeks ago dude ;)) but thought we'd get the ball rolling on this ;) :D

Looking to do a weekend away some time in August. Not sure on dates yet - are there any weekends which are a real no no for anyone and we can try and get a good balance.......???

Plan would be to drive up there and meet up at some services on the M1 (probably) around lunchtime with the posse from oooop thar ;) eg ChrisB, Charlie Whiskey, LM WRX??? etc....
Then go for a bit of a drive via some twisties ;) stopping at a pub or something half way, and then continue on to the hotel for about 5-6ish.

There we can get changed and head out for a curry or chinese (not same curry place as last time ;) if thats chosen) and a few beers.

Up early on Sun :eek: ;) to get to the park asap and spend the whole day there - leaving as and when you want or to drive back down in groups depending on what happens.

When we have an idea on numbers Chris will hopefully (thanks mate :D) look into some hotels for us where we can all fit in, and hopefully get CharlieWhiskey to sort us out a nice route for Sat arvo :D

I'd like to come, but only the first 2 weekends work for me.. to be honest though I fear the park and the Peak District will be way too busy at that time of year :( Still, will give it a shot!
This time you should make sure to get all the tickets in advance so we can go in early - exclusive ride time IIRC. That way we guarantee getting on Air and Oblivion :D (But damn, it'll be with a hangover!)

Ok, one of the first two weekends it is then ;)

Trouble is Sept is the IOW trip, Oct is really too late IMHO leaving May, June, July. For various reasons I and a few others can't do May, June or July so August seemed the only one that was feasible :(

I know it will be busy but probably not much worse than any other weekend day - and we'll all have a laff anyway ;)

So, to recap, will be the w/e of either 3rd and 4th ot the 10th and 11th. Wouldn't be the same without you acting as dad Chuck ;)

Ruth and I will be in, :D but do remember Isle of Wight trip is the following month...... some people may not be able to afford to go away for two weekends so close together.

No worries about stealing my thunder. I was actually only asking if any AT trips were planned, had not yet given serious thought to doing anything about it, mainly due to my companies complete lack of organisation and being unable to tell me month from month as to what country I'll be in!

Anyway, go ahead and roll the ball. i'm up for august, any dates are fine.

One thing. Is a day at AT going to be enough? plus doing it on one day and driving back home? hmm, not sure. have spoken to my brother and he said the place is huge (i'm an AT virgin) and 2 days might be good, but then what the hell do I know!

Thats the way we did it like that last year and it seemed ok (what do others think who came last time?????), but I'm open to any changes. Spent the day and drove home last time - was a right laff ;)

What do people think 1 day/2 day? Open to thoughts!!! 2 day might mean having to go down fri night..........

Worked okay last year - drove up on the Saturday/ate/drove some more/lots of drink & more food, then to AT on the Sunday, leaving there around 6/7ish.

Not sure, think me and the Libster will be in Majorca on hols, doin it Kevin and Perry style. Laaarge. AT will be well busy on Sunday, esp as its 1st or 2nd weekend after schools break up for summer !

Do all you guys know each other? We might be interested if other newbies go. What's this hotel you have in mind - is it the one at AT or is it somewhere else. Not sure about curry but a chinese/italian sounds good! Up Sat night and back Sun night sounds good to me too.

Some of us know each other and some don't. I went last year not knowing anyone and had a great time :D We are all a friendly bunch and its always nice to meet new peeps/enthusiasts!!
Come along anyway, don't worry about whether there are other newbies or not, we won't bite and you'll have a great time guaranteed :D:D:D:D

It won't be the AT hotel, but we will probably be staying in Stoke somewhere (the locals should find us a good place in a safe area ;)) so we can go out for the eve, and on to AT the next day!!
