Question

I've had my MY99 5dr Turbo now for a few months and am well pleased. But I've noticed that the rear discs aren't shiny at all. I understand that they aren't used anyway near as much as the front ones, but I would have expected them to have worn sufficiently that they went a shiny silver. My worry is that I'm not getting the full braking ability that I should.

Cheers

Mike

I've had 2 Impreza's now and I've had exactly the same thing. Not sure if you can do anything about it though...

take the pads out and the carrier off then using a file clean up where the edges of the pads sit this will be covered in **** and muck then clean the edges of the pads with the file reassemble with some copper slip on the edges and hey presto rear brakes again you'll probably find when you take it apart that the pads are tight in the carrier and when cleaned up they'll be loose
