Hi all,
I am a newbie to this forum. Can anyone tell me the best bulb upgrade option for the Impreza and a list of suppliers for these bulbs.
Thanks

FD, I use 80/100w bulbs which have been fine for well over a year now in my UK00. £12 twin-pack from Halfords.

Dramatically better than standard, and better than £45-each PIAAs IMHO which have a tendancy to blow. Some they they run too hot and can melt the plastic on the bulb holder. I've had no such problems, and many others say the same.

Bear in mind that 80w is not that much more than standard 60w high-beam and I only run on 100w main beam for a few seconds at a time. That may be why I have no problems. But if you sit in slow traffic with headlights blazing for hours, I guess you may have trouble. In which case, switch to side-lights only.

Works for me :)

Richard.

PS Welome!

I changed to Philips Vision Plus - brilliant, I can see again. Go to PowerBulbs (http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk) ... you get sidelights free as well at the moment, well worth the £20 or so ;)

Cheers
Phil :D

Completely agree with Goldfinger go for the Philips Vision +. 80/100w are illegal and produce more glare than usable light in my opinion (illegal in UK anyway). U should be able to get them at any good autosupplies.

Definitely agree, Powerbulbs is a good place to get them on the net, great service.
Be very careful putting them in (don’t wiggle them about) as the inside of my drivers side headlight collapsed.
Cheers.
Ian.

Yep,Vision plus is the way to go for both quality and price.I've had them in my bugeyes and just put them in my WR Sport headlamps too. They do make a difference.Make sure you get the sidelight bulbs too cos otherwise they look a horrible yellow colour in comparison to the uprated dipped beam bulbs :D
Another benefit,is they don't put any additional strain on the wiring loom since they are standard wattage :)

Good luck! :D

For a specific reply, you need to state which model Impreza you have and whether the lights are original, or repplaced by Morette or similar.
