As the title says really. What temperature is considered it is time to go into the pits to allow the engine/oil to cool? My Autometer gauge on the road reads 165 degrees fahrenheit when being able to drive along constantly but rises to 195 degrees fahrenheit when stuck in traffic.

Also, I do not have an EGT gauge but I would have thought that if EGT's are high then this would correlate to high oil temperatures or am I incorrect?

Cheers,

Damian.
