As a scoobynet newbie I'm encouraged to see so many enthusiastic people (finally I don't get moaned at for going on about cars!) Are any of you lot from Scotland though? The reason I ask is 90% of the scooby drivers I see are female or so old they look like the might die at the wheel!! - No offense to enthusiastic female drivers or old people but most of then tootle around in 2 litre mode with cobwebs forming in the turbo!! So please, next person to see me in my black MKII VTS near Edinburgh give a wee wave and clear those cobwebs ;-)

Most of the people who post in the Scotland forum are actually live in Scotland, we only occasionally get the odd white settler ;)

awright SaxoBoy ?!

I've just got ma first scoob and I aint quite a wrinkly antique yet! (30) - but I know what youre sayin re the usual scoobie drivers ;)

I'll keep my eye out for your buggy man - I saw from your other posts that you 'hit' the bypass now and again ;) thats my route to work every day so the chances are I should see you sometime (I say in E Lothian).

Mines a bog standard green turbo (feels quick to me after owning a diesel turbo citroen for 4 years mind) but your wee vts could be in with a shout ;)

You wanna come to Aberdeen!! There are hundreds of scoob drivers about but everyone is dead miserable. I've had my scoob over a year now (I'm only 23!) and i've only had about 2 waves in all that time!!:(

Come on you Aberdonians, try smiling once in a while :D:D:D:D:D:D

PS. Every day i see a crime comitted on Kings road as the owner of the Ferrari 360 Modena has left it out in the rain again!!! ;)

Hey Saxo boy

I normally clear my cobwebs with a little tootle from Port Seton to North Berwick. Being an oldie in my 40's I'll try not to hold you up if I ever see you down this way ;) (White 95 WRX RA) :)

No cobwebs on my turbo either...You'll see me on the bypass most mornings between Fairmilehead and Calder (8:45 ish). Grey, wrx sti type R. I wave to all scooby drivers, whether old or female !! Get some strange looks sometimes though !! I even wave to EVO drivers sometimes - is that against the rules ??!!??

Encouraging responses lads: S-Man, I work for East Lothian council in Haddington so I'll be sure and keep an eye out for you.

Ricco - I know exactly what you mean, lots of daddies boys in aberdeen getting silly money spent on them ;-) My mate Alex (Aberdonian) knows of a lad who got an Impreza for his 17 birthday stuffed it within a year so his daddy bought him a P1. Just not fair!!

Cossie Convert - good drive that, but make sure you take her on the Aberlady to Gullane road, that road and the VTS were built for each other and I can't help but hammer it every time!!

Kart Man - I tend to enter the bypass at Fairmilehead heading east so I'll keep an eye out.

See you out there lads!

The saxo is X-reg, MKII, unmodified and black (there's only 1 or 2 unmodified x's I've seen in the Lothian's)

Technically Scottish - just not actually IN Scotland, does that count? I hope so because seven years away has not lowered my Scottishness.

Looks like i'm heading back to Europe to live so should drive home occassionally in my Scoob (coming too) so keep a look out for a RHD STi5 with Italian plates. Maybe bump into some of you at the meets you organise.

The only thing i know about Haddington is that it is where i used to do karting, at the indoor track. At least i think it was :)

Was having the Subaru chat with my boss a few minutes ago and it turns out that someone in a white Impreza destroyed his silver Renault Laguna three times between Fairmilehead and the Bankton junction. The afore mention gratuitous show of acceleration occurred on Saturday after the Edinburgh derby (go on the jambo’s). Does this ring any bells with any of you Lothians lads ;)

I'm in the area too.

Usually to be found around Edinburgh, particularly Leith.

My g/f also lives near Haddington, so I'm out that way a few times a week.

Saw a white scoob on the A1 to Haddington last week. Could that have been you Cossie Convert?

Rich :)

Probably ;) White with Black bonnet vents and square front No plate on my mota ;)
Std WRX from the rear except the 4" tell tale pipe :D :D

Sax - No offence but why would a scoob be trying to impress a Laguna

I am from a wee village (not so wee now) on the outskirts of Edinburgh and my weekend car is a 94 Impreza Turbo 5dr. You may see me on the bypass occasionaly, but the
Lang Wang ( Lanark road beyond Balerno) is my kind of road. Will
watch out for you if I am ever on the bypass.

Had a slight run with him today about 5.30ish from fairmilehead heading west.

HI your right they do top out early my own one was bang on 138 when i got it ,it now tops out at over 160 after a few modes but my mate has been driving it and i think he thinks all scoobs do this ,so when he bought pauls 2001 he realised there not quick standard ,so today we are doing a few alterations
ssubaru
ps if you happen to read this paulk you should have seen the smile on scotts face all last night when driving his first scoob

Once up and running it would give a standard scoob a good race!(The V6 that is!)

I know I used to have one!

They top out at around 150MPH. The pull at 120 + is still very strong!

ssubaru - I was just fishing ;) :p

Have always said that the Impreza sorely needs a 6 speed gearbox like the Cavalier/Calibra Turbo

These go to 152+MPH as standard 204BHP units.

Bluenose, Yea it probably would, but I've not got an underpowered overweight standard UK Scoob ;)

Hey Ricco,
I live just south of aberdeen. And like you I have had my Impreza for about a year. I flash or wave to every Impreza driver I see. Where do you normally hang out? What car do you have? Mine is a DBM MY00, with 18 inch diablos, and clear front and side indicators. W reg. If you see me give me a wave.
Saxo Boy. My parents did not pay for my car, or help me pay for it. I have heard rumours of a lad that had an impreza turbo for his 17 birthday, then his dad bought him a 22b to replace it for a christmas present. Some people have all the luck.
