Nearly put this in Wheels/Brakes forum but it is motorsport related really.
Why do single-seater race cars (eg F1) have so much rubber around the wheels whilst in virtually all other types of racing car, large wheels with very low profile tyres are preferred??
I've wondered that for a while!
