View Full Version : Good Clifford Dealer wanted in North London mutant_matt 05 March 2002, 18:59 Can anybody recommend a good Clifford dealer that they trust in the Barnet/Enfield/Herts area? Thanks, Matt :) tezza 05 March 2002, 20:10 Hi Matt had Clifford 300 fitted to 206 by dealer in Winchmore Hill as a test to see what I thought of them. They seem o.k. but guy had never touched an Impreza before. (may have said before) So it might be better to go to Max in Leeds, long way I know but never had a problem. There is a place in Virginia Waters or something Wentworth (sorry don't know name phone clifford for dealer list). Last time I was told that this had closed or they had stopped doing Clifford but someone recently said they had used them and that they knew alot about the Impreza. Sorry not much help, but did asked this myself before going to Leeds. Terry Harry_Boy 05 March 2002, 23:20 Hi Guys - see post from me earlier, but I reckon you can't beat Max in Leeds - knows Clifford and Imprezas inside out (literally!!). mutant_matt 06 March 2002, 08:59 Nick (Chiark) was also talking about a good bloke in Leeds, wonder if it was the same one. Seems a very long way to go just for a Clifford install......:( Thanks guys, anyone else? Matt :) chiark 06 March 2002, 09:43 Funnily enough, yes it was Max. He's fitted all my alarms over the past 5 years. Alex Creasey 06 March 2002, 12:29 Matt, ACE in bounds green did my Clifford + will be doing Blackjax for me asap. Was v. happy with work done in past. Alex. mutant_matt 06 March 2002, 12:31 Alex, Do you "trust" them? What did they seem like? Trustworthy? The kind of guys to add a couple of "extra" key fobs onto your alarm etc..... Anyone know how long BJ takes to fit? (i.e. could you hang around and watch them fit it?) Matt :) Alex Creasey 06 March 2002, 13:15 Matt, Yes I trust them. A few years ago a friend of mine used to work there which is how I came to use them. As far as I can remember back on the alarm side of things they have only ever done Clifford. Mounting of LED + valet code buttons were v. neat other than that you wouldn't know they'd touched the car. They are fitting Blackjax for me on Monday so I hope all of the above will still be correct. Cheers. tezza 06 March 2002, 20:38 Alex let me know how you get on with them, because I got two different prices when I phoned a couple of days apart. Difference was £40, so did not use them as they left me unsure about them. Not trying to say they are no good, as you have had no problems so I guess it was just a mistake. I would like to upgrade a few things on my car so would be interested in using their services. Terry tezza 06 March 2002, 20:45 Matt if you are just getting BJ (£35 in massage parlour so I,ve heard) then no key fobs involved, so they can't add to something that does not exist. If you are going alarm route then get Cliffnet Wizard with install to see what is logged on system. It took Max all day as he had the flue plus it was first day of the new year that he was open, so lots of phone calls etc. Probably take about 5-6hrs. Terry audio g man 06 March 2002, 23:42 Blackjax 4 isn't a system that works on it's own. It will only work with G4 alarms, so remote controls will definitely involved. mutant_matt 07 March 2002, 08:50 Well a friend of mine had it installed last week as a standalone product with it's own siren, completely seperate from the main alarm. The dealer said he could link it into the alarm but prefered the standalone option.... Matt :) chiark 07 March 2002, 09:51 Audio G Man - you can either have it on the 500/600 or as a standalone unit. darms 07 March 2002, 15:28 I too would recommend ACE in Bounds Green WWW.ACE-AUDIO.COM Mention you heard about them on Scoobynet and they will look after you. SeanG 07 March 2002, 16:10 Not wishing anyone to give away any secrets etc. But how does the backjax unit know that the owner is no longer driving the car? Sean SeanG 07 March 2002, 16:20 I've found out now thanks........ Sean |
