Pictures from the Performance Driving day at North Weald Airdrome. Thanks to JohnS for organising the SIDC rates and to Andrew Walsh for his outstanding driving and teaching. Highly recommended
and very good value.
Sal wondering whether we should trade in the MX-5...

Our car

John's (Sal's Dad) car

Andrew and Chris' Elises

Chris giving his Elise a bit of stick

John can't wait to get on track...

Sal demonstrating her recently learnt fixed input steering technique

Sal on track

Just to prove Sal was really trying...

John on track

Andrew showing us how it should be done....

Sal proving that an Elise with the hood up is not the easiest car to get into

...or out of

Note for Chris - drop me a line (Email in profile) and I'll mail you the pictures I have of your Elise.
Cheers

Chris/Sal - great pictures guys, look better now than they did on the camera yesterday
... I'll definitely be joining you guys the next time, so keep me informed!
>> Chris - where's the photos of you pootling around the course, or did you leave the fast driving to the likes of Sal and John???!

Phil
Actually I was supposed to be taking pics of Chris driving round but I kept missing him (he was soooo quick
), here is an example of one of my pics...

....and that's one of the better ones

Chris,
Doesn't count then

You've gotta get it back for it to count...

Nothing wrong with a Scoob for hanging it out, Chris must try harder next time

Matt
Well John managed to spin his Impreza

You've gotta get it back for it to count...

But I think the award goes to Chris and his Elise - can't beat RWD for getting the back out.

Matt

Matt did have a great time sideways but that was with a drop of rain to make it more interesting
I was ok'ish but managed to spin twice. But did manage a couple of power slides in the dry. (cost me 2 new fronts).

Thank you DazV - fiver's in the post
Phil - what can I say? Moved so quick, camera couldn't focus

Strangely, Andy kept praying for rain, but despite the weather you see in Sal's pics we only got a few spots of rain, so we didn't really have a chance to slide the car around much.
It also confirmed my worst fears about the Pzeros - not much cop really. They had a tendency to understeer badly - more so than the Toyo's on John's car. Sal did her best to destroy them though
It was nice to get some feedback on the setup of the car on the Eibach springs - Andy was impressed. He took the right angled corner at 90 and reckoned that there was still more to come (I'll be leaving that to the professionals.....)
If I could get the heal/toe thing worked out as well, I reckoned we could go faster next time (but they all say that
)
Cheers
