Question

Anyone fancy a group buy on AP 6pot brake kits?

Who is the cheapest for this kit? Anyone know?

Cheers

Maybe I'm interested too. Still waiting to see what Movit can do with my bigger alloys. If this gets fit I have no interest, otherwise I have interest if we can get a nice price for the 6-pot 330mm!

Nate,

AFAIK the kit contains front discs, pads and callipers as well as full set of braideds, so you could uprate your rears as well if you wanted but I shouldn't think it's essential. Just need decent fluid, unless that comes with the kit too?

If I get enough interest I'll get a price.

Cheers

You only get braided lines for the front but you do get AP brake fluid in the kit. Or thats what I got in mine.

I'm trying hard to get the best price possible for us.

I've got a few suppliers coming back to me today. As soon as I get the best price I'll let you all know.

Cheers

Rich

Oh, and Tezza appears to be right re the braideds, front only but I've got braideds anyway so it makes no odds to me.

I too have been doing some shopping around since my movit brake disaster (yea they will need spacers so its refund time). I have managed to get the following prices for the full front Impreza kit from an ap dealer. this is not conditional on a group purchase. This is just the price he will do them at individually:
4 pot £1357 inc VAT
6 pot £1623 inc VAT

What do you think guys?

I will obviously need to finalise things but i think this will be callipers obviously
330mm grooved discs (ones with the additional vanes)
braided hoses
pads

Thumbs up

That's a pretty good price m8.

Getting discounts on AP brakes is like trying to get a blow job from Cameron Diaz. Not easy.

I'm still waiting on a couple of suppliers getting back to me.

I can offer a considerable saving on the prices you've quoted providing I can get 10 definate buyers.

Just waiting to make sure I get the best price I can for us. Pleas bear with me. It should be worth it.

Cheers

If anyone's interested we can offer the AP 4 & 6 pot calipers to use with our discs , The discs we can use are ,

308mm x 28mm 16" wheels
325mm x 30mm 17" wheels
335mm x 32mm 17" wheels
355mm x 32mm 18" wheels

Our discs are thicker than the AP ones and can take a lot of track abuse ,
Our normal prices on some of these kits are,

325mm 4 pot kit £1150 inc Vat
335mm 6 pot kit £1450 inc Vat
Replacement discs ,
325mm £125 each
335mm £145 each
If you are looking for a group buy we could better these prices depending on numbers.
Our discs come with a 12 month or minimum thickness guarantee against warping even if you are doing track days ,

As we make our discs with maximum offset we are confident our kits will fit behind just about every wheel !!

Hope this helps , Ian

I was always told that you absolutely have to get the rear braided hoses too, otherwise you get brake line expansion differences front and rear giving you a delayed response from the rear brakes.

Never understood the problem, but was told not to do them individually.

I got my 6 pots from scoobymania, give tuckwood a ring, I am sure he will arrange a group discount if you ask him.

If that's the case do you get a delayed responce front and rear with standard hoses ? Sounds to me like a very good sales technique ! Only on older cars does the hoses start going soft and balloons slightly when you apply heavy braking , We have found changing the fronts only does not cause any problems , But for an extra £30 you may as well get them done at the same time as the fronts , Ian

I fitted Ian's 325mm AP 4-pot kit about 10 days ago and can only describe them as F*****G suberb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A cheaper (THIS DOES NOT MEAN INFERIOR!) option compared to the AP OE discs and remember that replacement from Ian are £250 inc VAT for the pair and AP discs are £340 PLUS VAT for the pair!

Go on, you know you want to!

Russell
Edited to say that I fitted a full set of braided hoses as well and now there is no soft pedal!
