hi what do you think of chipping my wrx? has anyone done any thing similar?

and also these one on ebay say stage two or stage 3? if i got the stage 3 would it only work with other mods?

can someone explain if these work and are any good, and work with other mods etc?

i have cat back exhasut and a induction kit

ive been looking at buying a stage 3 one of these i was gonna get one this week to have a go at fitting it. but iam gonna buy another ecu first just incase something gos wrong. i will post up what happens.

Whats the difference between them? They both have a boost limit of 1.1bar,so can't see one performing any different to the other!
Also,it would be nice to know how relable it is,as never heard of them.
A better option would be the polar performance chip,which are tried and tested.Thier more money at £185,but i happen to have one for sale for £80!

Not doubting the advertiser but all i can see is a different price and slightly different wording in the advert.
Also i don't understand why the STI chip can be fitted to a UK turbo as i think the UK turbo is very similar to the WRX (rev limit etc)

Or am i just a doubting thomas

Looking at the Ebay add, it's another copy of the original Scott chip imho. The hard part is getting hold of the original chip, once this is done, it's like making copies of any computer file (a word document file for instance). You can do it accurately loads and loads of times. I doubt very much this has been tweeked at all to be honest, how could they? The boost level is exactly the same, it's 'designed' for a free flowing exhaust and intake (just as the scott chip is).

On a UK turbo, overall gains will be more noticeable than on an import.

Might be worth it, but like anything, a gamble and I doubt you'll get any cash back should the engine go pop!

I've been running a copy of this chip for a while now with no ill effects. If it does go bang, then (if chip related) I only have myself to blame.

 

Its tuned to compensate for the natural tendency the boxer engine has for under-bonnet heat build up and is particularly well suited to motorsport applications

I got one of these e bay chips which to my mind are all the damn same didn't notice that much of a difference (unless you run supporting mods) and they all seems to do the same thing raise boost 1.1bar change fuelling, ignition get rid of the limiter blah blah....
He has just dressed it up with stage 2 and stage 3 tune to make it sound more attractive..

the esl chip, that did whatthey said. and i found them on e-bay,

this is the older system to this live map..
it was worth every penny too.

i may beeselling this once the live map is done

 

You won't regret the ESL live map,had it fitted just over a week ago at Zen,worth every peny! Just make sure you get the later map sensor fitted at the same time so you can run 1.35bar.

 

thats also on the cards to mate.

i wont be as power full as this stage 3 thing
but with all thats been done, around 320bhp touch wood...

 

I emailed the guy about his stage 3 chip, gave him a spec of FMIC, TD05, Induction kit and standard 380cc injectors and asked is 360bhp is a realistic figure...

Just got a reply saying YES and if i change the turbo and injectors then 400bhp is more than possible.
