General Advice :

1.Get a large scale local map. The speccy pack is good but the local maps are a good addition.

2.Take Wet Weather gear every where.

3. Get to stages at least 1 - 2 Hours before hand.

4. If you intend to speccy mid stage go for ones with good access , they do get busy.

5. Stay out side Ajaccio but not more than 30 k away. It can be slow getting between A and B.

6. Watch out on D roads - You will come across Subsidense , NO Armco , BIG Drops , Cows , Goats , Pigs.

7. Resteraunts - some look like dumps on the outside but they do some wicked grub. Mix of French / Italian.

8. Local delicasy - Smoked , Cured and heavily peppered Wild Boar - It is very nice.

You taking your scoob or hiring.

Enjoy it

Thanks Neil,

I am flying to Alghero in Sardinia on the 3rd (via Ryanair £120 return), will hire a car at the airport and get some accomodation. Spend a day or two In Sardinia before heading up to the Ferry port (about 80 miles away). A quick 50 minute crossing, then its another 80 miles to Ajaccio. I imagine all progress will be slow, but should make for some great photos!

Just need some accomodation, can you reccomend any?

:D

Hi DavyBoy - we did the holiday deal through VFB Holidays , Flight Car Hire and Accommodation.

However spoke to a guy who has just hopped on a plane , hired a car at Ajaccio and set off.

He found a Hotel on the road from Ajaccio to Corte about 12km from Ajaccio.

No Names I'm afraid but he said it was cheap and excellent. Cheap was about £10 per night with evening meal chucked in.

Some people we met were actually kipping in the car ( renault Clio and they were not small lads )

A lot of places will be closed due to being off season , Ajaccio may be quite full due to being Rally HQ but I'm sure you would find something there.

It will be busy.

VFB Holidays ( www.vfbholidays.com or .co.uk ) may be able to help regarding accomodation.

Have fun and enjoy.
