Default Petition against Hamiltons penalty!

Well over 4000 people have already signed this!

Belgium Grand Prix - Lewis Hamilton was unfairly stripped of his win Petition

I've posted it here as well as in Motorsport.

LOL, like the FIA will take any notice of that Unless you can get it signed by Luca Montezemolo, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa of course

I signed it. But as mentioned, it will make absolutely no difference.

The Guvnor is a man of ill repute, this sort of thing is going to mean jack sh*t.

makes my blood boil signed the petition but as we know it will do jack s**t to get the FIA to overturn their decision.

Someone seems hell bent on Lewis not winning the championship again after last years fiasco and the last race debarkle.

FFS

He Cheated!

If you watch the footage you can clearly see that he did gain an advantage.
Yes, he backed off slightly but only just.

Oh, and petition not signed either.

I've signed it, it looks like there are a lot of people signing that per minute. The number just keeps on rising. We just need to spread the word.

Personally at the time i thought he should have backed off more and maybe had a go at Kimi after the first corner. Yes i think Hamilton was in the wrong but no - the punishment doesn't fit the crime!!!

What a joke post. He backed off by enough to let KR pass. That's what the rules say he had to do. He did it. End of.

Well, you can argue that he should have backed off more to make the issue certain. But he did let him past, and he was knocked off the road which is why he had to use the escape road in the first place.

Not to mention Kimi binned it unhindered a minute of so later, ergo no advantage.

I think about 5 of my friends have now signed this. Lets just keep this going and see how many people we can get on the list.

I didn't see the footage, but someone here described it as hamilton backing off to allow the other guy in front a little, to comply , and then under taking.

Doesn't sound very fair to me.

Pointless petition, like the FIA or any other motorsport governing body is going to take notice of it. Nice idea, but pointless.

It is wise to see the footage before you pass an opinion if you want to be fair.

It is hard to believe that you even watched the race!

If everyone says that the FIA will ignore the petition so there is no point in signing it, than that sort of apathy will allow them to think that they can do it again. It takes very little time to sign it and it can only do good.

How can he have gained an advantage? He was 6kph slower across the line, so there was no advantage, momentum is mass X velocity, cars weigh the same, speed was slower so he had less momentum than the Ferrari.
He was perfectly fair, pity Raikenen forced him off at the corner in the first place, but hey its racing.

urban - that's a right load of guff chap. Also since it is now in several threads it isn't far off trolling as it adds nothing to the original post.

agreed. that's all that's required...and with the tolerances in F1 backing off to give more than say half a second or whatever kimi needed to retake the position, hamilton would have been slated by his team not to mention the fact that he'd be kicking himself!

Sorry, but I don't accept that.

I think (Note I) that if he had taken the corner properly and just run off like he did then he wouldn't have had the same momentum that he did.

Watch the footage again and look at the acceleration he had in comparison with the ferrari.
Now bearing in mind that Raikenen would have been on maximum attack at that point it means that Hamilton who was supposed to be slower in my mind doesn't add up.

You're entitled to your opinion I suppose. As for trolling - don't think so, and don't do that anyway.
I've voiced my opinion on this whole ferrari/mcclaren on other threads too.

Sorry but he did not gain an advantage, how can he be in a slower car of the same weight and have more momentum? Please explain the maths.

He would also have stayed on the track if he hadnt been pushed wide by a bad kamikaze overtake by Kimmi,

That's sort of the point. This thread was for those who want to sign the petition not continue the argument so the original post (and given the many outlets you do have) was simply looking for a response IMHO.

As you say though you are entitled to your opinion. Even if it is wrong

Totally agree. Yes, he may have backed off, but not to the same point than if he had not cut the chicane! The brits are a bunch of sore losers!

But, the point is that the petition is flawed.

Too many people do not understand the fact that he did gain more time by cutting the chicane than if he hadn't. And that is after you consider him backing off. I very much doubt that this appeal will lead to the steward decision being over-turned. They can't just make a decision to 'please' the british public. They have to stick to the rules and Hamilton DID GAIN AN ADVANTAGE BY CUTTING THE CHICHANE!

I suppose that Heidfeld and BMW will be accused of being cheats now too?

Who gives a toss, it looks like it was a bit unfair perhaps, but in the scheme of things I cant really get that indignant about it, if Hamilton doesnt win the championship he can have another go next year, if he never wins it, so what ?

If it bothers you that much, don't watch it, its been shown to be run by a load of corrupt and deviant old men so dont be suprised when something corrupt or deviant happens.

F1 is like a Pork chop, a load of bone and fat that is most of the race with the one juicy morsel in the middle when by some miracle two cars of comparative performance are actually on the same part of the track at the same time, then it all stops cos someone needs some fuel, all about the stragegy of pit stops, wow thats exciting to watch, someone stopping for petrol.

Which he gave back 400 yards later, AS THE RULES DICTATE, by allowing KR to overtake him.

What don't you understand?
