Has to be the Cobra 7928 without any question. I have had zero return rate on these units. Furthermore they function very well-the best siren in the business, lithium batteries in the remotes, self adjusting movement sensors are just a few of the features that make it superior to the Scorpion. Just look how many aftermarket dealers are installing it compared to Scorpion ! Website for contact info is www.vestatec.co.uk.

Cobra are the Best !
go for the Cobra 7928 for a good cat 1.
or for an even better one go for the Cobra 8186 which has 3 point immobilisation!! and a microwave, instead of ultrasonics.

Got to agree on Cobras, much underated, more reliable than Clifford. Look at their new 7518 Thatcham class1 etc. £288 fitted by authorised dealer in Notts

Hi Mike

I've got a Cobra 7928 on my Mk2 Golf GTI 16V (for sale actually at http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=74800 plug plug!!!) and its a great system.

I've never had any false alarms, it has double immob (auto set), outputs for locking/unlocking as standard etc etc and came highly recommended.

Ive just been told buy my local alarm retailer that COBRA have gone bust and they are being bought out by a wheel manufacturing company and that this may effect your warranty,he advised me to go with a TOAD unit for my MY01 with lifetime guarantee dont wish to be a messenger of doom but thought id pass info on.
P.S thanks for info on earlier page on belgian imports not being fitted with alarms,as i thought mine was and it wasnt, was going out for a pint, now staying in!!!!!!

Yoza,

Cobra haven't gone bust, go and tell that half-wit at your local alarm "kwik fit centre" to tell you the truth next time and not to talk out his behind. Delta electronics, the Italian manufacturer of Cobra Vehicle Security Products ended their long relationship with "Ital Audio" last year. Customers have retained their UK warranty through the new distributor Vestatec. You are correct about the fact that they also manufacture wheels. Their website is www.vestatec.co.uk for anybody wishing to find out more about this company. I have found customer service has improved tremendously since they have taken over distribution. Unfortunately this dealer who's bulled you with mis-information in order to get a sale has not done his credibility any favours, I would personally look elsewhere in the area to get your alarm installed !

Nick,
thanks for posting more info on cobra systems to put the records straight. The dealer I have now found out doesnt even stock cobra systems so read into that what you will.Still having the TOAD fitted but will put him to rights when I speak to him after fitting on Monday.
Yoza.
