I am thinking of driving down to the rally of Catalunya this year.
Any idea of what it's likely to cost.

View Full Version : Catalunya - How much? Carl Harvey 07 February 2002, 21:13 I am thinking of driving down to the rally of Catalunya this year. Any idea of what it's likely to cost. jon44w 09 February 2002, 04:43 a lot more than getting an easyjet to barcelona and hiring a car. thats what we are doing. see www.wrc-tours.com (http://www.wrc-tours.com) for the company who we booked through. 555 BOY 09 February 2002, 21:13 Same ere Jon,are you flying from Liverpool?if so when are you going/returning & what Hotel you staying at,I'm making a week of it leaving some time to explore the local Catalunian culture;)and sample some of the local juices:D:D:D 555 Scoobychick 10 February 2002, 18:10 Carl - there's about 16 cars driving down there this year, in two separate groups. Pete Croney's group are driving all the way while Tom's (Rum*) group (of which I'm part) are getting the ferry from Plymouth to Santander then driving the rest of the way. The costs vary depending on your chosen route, I can email you details of our costs but think they'll be quite different for those that are driving all the way. Have a look at this thread (http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=58040) for more details, it's probably a good place to ask about costs too :) Sal Carl Harvey 10 February 2002, 21:08 Thanks. I'm probably going to take Jon's suggestion and fly down with Easyjet. Do you need to buy stage passes before you go? ChrisB 11 February 2002, 01:26 I can't work out which will hurt more - beer money or petrol money? :D Didn't think they ran a ticket system for Catalunya? Timo 19 February 2002, 23:34 I'm driving down... getting the ferry from Portsmouth to St Marlo (brittany) at £175. it goes over night so you can get some kip ready for the slog through France...arrives there at 8am. Cuts off the drag from Calais saving you alot of time and fuel!! The hotels we are looking at are about £12 B&B so i think your £25 was a bit ott!! I am getting the ferry from Portsmouth on Tue 19th at 20.30 and am starting my trip from Hull at around 2ish that day. My m8 will be following in his Porsche(easy pickings!!) so if anyone likes this plan you are free to tag along.
