Default 03 engine into a 98 car ?????

I have a 2003 WRX engine removed from a car and i am wondering if it will drop into a 98 UK2000 car.

What is different, is it simply connectors and locations of sensors ??

Is it simply a case of changing the connectors etc on sensors and getting it running??

if so i may have a busy weekend

any help and advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks
Chris.

I think it would be easier if you got a 98 intake manifold and put that onto the 2003 engine. Otherwise you will have a lot of loom splicing to do which might/might not work out.

It's a lot of work to get a phase 1/1.5 inlet manifold onto a Phase 2 set of heads so i dismissed that slightly.

I have been told that the wiring would be a major nightmare, so i guess if the engine is tested and is ok then i may be on the lookout for an 03 car for this lump.

I have a my00 with an 03 engine, when i spun a bearing scoobybits fitted an 03 engine. Dont no how but it was quicker then a rebuild, so i said fit that then.

it may just be the block and not the heads, then you would have the my00 heads on the 03 block, leaving all your your wiring and inlet manifold etc as they were my00

it's a possibility.
