Its only no 000815!! Wonder how many they will sell by the start date? I didn't see any disount codes either. Delivery took 2 weeks silent running 17 October 2008, 21:57 So last time I went, I got a couple of resold Saturday day passes off ebay, that did the job for the stages and the Stadium later on. Now I just went to buy my Saturday day pass and find that I need to buy two separate Stadium passes for the evening, on top of all that I've got 'booking fees' and 'postage' to pay, no doubt 2-4x of each. So what I thought was going to cost me £60, is now ending up being more like £100. For a day out, where I'm driving half way across the country to stand outdoors in December, having to book two nights at a B&B as well. All told, this will be £300 at least. There must be some discounts available? No wonder rallying is losing prominence, it's too pricey! wrcfreak 17 October 2008, 22:08 So last time I went, I got a couple of resold Saturday day passes off ebay, that did the job for the stages and the Stadium later on. Save your money for wrc Ireland. £100 on the boat last year for car and 3 pasengers from Holyhead and free to spectate. Saying that I have just spent £96 on my WRC pass. That would get me to Nice in Jan on British Airways for IRC Monte Calro. Already booked my fare back on Easyjet- less than £30 all in. £90 for hire car and free to spectate! silent running 18 October 2008, 07:45 Bugger! I was just doing this year's Rally GB cos I can throw the kids in the car and go, never thought of going 'abroad'. At this rate it'll be cheaper to go to Finland next year than to stay here in rip-off Britain. Steve_PPP 18 October 2008, 17:42 Got my World Rally Pass today. Its only no 000815!! Wonder how many they will sell by the start date? I didn't see any disount codes either. Delivery took 2 weeks haha i've got 817 and 818 sitting in front of me ddb85 18 October 2008, 19:16 No luck then yet? :( might have to take the plunge full price tomorrow drew Jonnip74 18 October 2008, 19:41 Do I win?? I've got 902 and 903 here with me! The stages are going to be empty this year!!:lol1: And to think they said a few weeks back that sales were up 60% on last year.... trying to scare us into buying tickets were they....dont think it worked!! And they're bloody paper again!! We laminated ours last year only to have a stroppy woman at services moaning at us because they couldn't tear off the strip for the programme, they had to use a scissors! Well guess what, same again this year! A bit a water on them and they'd be well and truly buggered, especially if the weather is the same! The lanyards are a bit better then the red string we had last year though!! silent running 19 October 2008, 12:28 Well, I took the plunge and bought the tickets. Only because I'd already booked a B&B in Caerphilly and cleared the weekend of other stuff, so kind of had committed to it anyway. TBH when I saw the bill for Saturday which DID end up at almost £100 for me, wife and two very young children, I almost thought sod it. If the prices are as high next year, I doubt I'll go again. F1 CJE UK 21 October 2008, 19:31 going to book up later in the week (pay day) i agree with all the comments above the price is getting crazy and then they try and pen you in.... any codes :lol1: Jonnip74 22 October 2008, 09:45 and then they try and pen you in.... You hit the nail on the head then.... try and pen us in.... just got to keep out of the way of the bloody FIA helicopter!:lol1: The amount of time I've whipped my scooby jacket off and dived under some fallen trees to stay away from the bugger!!:lol1: All part of the fun!!:norty: blagman 22 October 2008, 11:33 You hit the nail on the head then.... try and pen us in.... just got to keep out of the way of the bloody FIA helicopter!:lol1: The amount of time I've whipped my scooby jacket off and dived under some fallen trees to stay away from the bugger!!:lol1: All part of the fun!!:norty: No FIA helicopter according to this years Marshalls Guide;) Jonnip74 22 October 2008, 12:02 No FIA helicopter according to this years Marshalls Guide;) Bloody result!!:lol1: :norty: F1 CJE UK 22 October 2008, 18:50 Bloody result!!:lol1: :norty: Well 2 years ago I nearly downed that bloody helicopter, we have a large fishing tent come wind breaker thing and it was doing its normal fun and games flying low and sending dust into peoples faces and the up draft sucked my wind break into the air I had to run a grab it …. Got a cheer from the fans but still don’t get the point if flying so low and covering people with dust  ddb85 26 October 2008, 18:54 well gave in waiting yesterday and got 2 WR passes 6 weeks til WRGB, cant wait :D drew Distinguished Gentleman 27 October 2008, 10:02 Well 2 years ago I nearly downed that bloody helicopter, we have a large fishing tent come wind breaker thing and it was doing its normal fun and games flying low and sending dust into peoples faces and the up draft sucked my wind break into the air I had to run a grab it …. Got a cheer from the fans but still don’t get the point if flying so low and covering people with dust  The whole point is to get in close enough to check for crowd safety issues and, if necessary, shout at offenders over their PA.:nono: It's all part of the WRC scene and I've always found the skill of the pilot extreemly entertaining. As he overflys the stage very precisely, it is useful in showing exactly where cars are coming from and going to. For me, it also helps build the anticipation of the start of the stage. Never mind nearly losing your tent, you should have been in Sweden a couple of years ago when it stirred up a snow storm:lol1: |
