View Full Version : WRC Scanner Freqs
satnav 13 August 2008, 22:24 Hi all ,
I was just wondering if anyone thats been away this year has had a scanner with them and if so have they any of the team freqs that are in use this year .
satnav 07 November 2008, 20:46 Take that as a no then .
Jonnip74 07 November 2008, 23:29 Some have been the same for the past couple of years. I'll dig my scanner out and see if I've saved the frequencies!
:thumb:
satnav 07 November 2008, 23:42 Cheers , i have them all saved as well , it`s just i was thinking if anyone had been at any WRC events this year to see if the team freqs they were using were the same this year as well .
Jonnip74 08 November 2008, 00:44 Would have thought so, but I know a man who would know... I'll see what I can get out of him 2moro
satnav 08 November 2008, 01:10 Good man , keep us informed cheers
Mr.Mcrae2004 12 November 2008, 14:27 Wheres The Best Place To Buy A Cheap But Suitable Scanner ??
Jonnip74 12 November 2008, 14:31 Good man , keep us informed cheers
No joy with the freq's yet. Still trying though!;)
satnav 12 November 2008, 19:33 No joy with the freq's yet. Still trying though!;)
I reckoned that , I know you wont let me down :thumb:
satnav 12 November 2008, 19:37 As regards a cheep scanner , it all comes down to what you want , there are loads out there , some cheepie ones on ebay or ones from any number of online retailers .
Jonnip74 16 November 2008, 23:03 Reeeeeeesult!!!:luxhello:
They'll be posted shortly!!:thumb:
Jonnip74 16 November 2008, 23:06 Everything on FM
Rally Control : 81.575
Team Frequencies are:
162.725 - Subaru
162.625 - Ford
163.625 - Citroen
If I get any more detailed info I'll shout!:thumb:
satnav 16 November 2008, 23:11 Good man , just need them programmed in now , the count down is on .
Scoobychick 17 November 2008, 13:39 The TV crew freq is a great source of info, if anything happens to any car they know about it the minute it happens. It may take a bit of finding though, we'll have three scanners on it on the first day and providing I have a mobile signal it will find its way to this thread :thumb: :D
Hint, search in the 450.000s ;)
Jonnip74 17 November 2008, 13:51 Never thought of the TV crews! I'll have a go when we're out on the stages for them! Close call feature may get a result on mine!
Cheers!!:thumb:
notfub 17 November 2008, 14:15 As regards a cheep scanner , it all comes down to what you want , there are loads out there , some cheepie ones on ebay or ones from any number of online retailers .
Not having bought this months "What Scanner" ;) Any chance of a link to a suitable and reasonably priced unit please?
Thanks.
Jonnip74 17 November 2008, 14:21 This is the one that has done me proud for the last couple of years, but I have had to buy a better ariel to attach to it, the rubber one was very poor! (New one only cost me £10 and is amplified too!)
UBC-72xlt VHF-UHF 100ch Close Call Scanner > Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97981&DOY=27m9)
Scoobychick 17 November 2008, 15:18 That's a good scanner that is, if I was in the market for a new one I'd definitely consider that. The close call feature will certainly grab the freq if you are within sight of a crew. I used my frequency counter to do the same thing as close call in Germany to get the TV crew freqs.
I've got last years TV crew freqs but forgot to name them so now have a few years worth of freqs with no idea which rally or year they belong to :D It's because I am lazy ;)
Scoobychick 17 November 2008, 15:24 This is the one I like UBC 3500XLT Handheld Scanner > Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=222288&&source=14&doy=17m11)
I'm on my third scanner now, I've had a Alinco DJ-X3, A Yupiteru MVT7100 and now own one of these babies, an AOR AR8200 MK III Nevada Scanners & Accessories AOR Range AR-8200 MK III (http://www.nevadaradio.co.uk/acatalog/aor-ar8200s3.html) amd a Watson Frequency counter :thumb:
Scoobychick 17 November 2008, 15:30 I also use a Scanmaster 10 Section Telescopic Fixed BNC Replacement Antenna with mine, it extends to 54 inches which is very useful in the middle of a Welsh forest :thumb:
notfub 17 November 2008, 16:02 Thanks to Scoobychick and Jon for the tips.
I've just taken the plunge and got the UNIDEN UBC72XLT. I've been putting off buying a scanner for ohh 10 years, about time I invested. Thanks.
Jonnip74 17 November 2008, 16:09 :thumb: Good choice! :thumb:
id2770 17 November 2008, 17:56 After Scoobychick and Jon excellent advice, a further tip is for those searching for team freqs, and have a scanner that decodes ctcss & dcs codes, here is a little extra help in identifying who the user is a little quicker.
Citroen Ctcss 110.9
Ford Dcs 411
Ford Dcs 114
Ford Dcs 122
Subaru Dcs 025
Suzuki Dcs 274
TV Crew Ctcss 88.5 ( UHF )
WRGB Satellite Tracking Techs Dcs 331 & 172 ( UHF )
A System Uhf repeat Ctcss 118.8 & 123.0 ( UHF )
Citroen Weather Crew Ctcss 127.3
Conrad Rautenbach (Possibly Dcs 263)
PWRC or Aigner Dcs 131 ( UHF )
Unidentified Weather Crew Dcs 464
The above tones have been consistent for the main works teams for the last three years, I only expect Ford to run 2 channels this year although a 3rd may be used by their weather crews. The tones for Conrad & Aigner are new from last year and hopefully will be reconfirmed this year.
Hope this is of use to someone
Jonnip74 17 November 2008, 19:11 :luxhello::luxhello:Nice nice!!
Cheers!!:thumb:
satnav 17 November 2008, 19:26 I`ll post a list of all i`ve had for the past few years later on tonite , it might be of some use .
Jonnip74 17 November 2008, 19:32 The more the better eh!! Cheers Satnav!:thumb:
