does anyone have a clue how to unlock an iphone, its my mates so i dont really know much , he bought it off ebay a while ago but it has recently locked, said he tried restoring the phone but its still locked, anyone know how to get round this?

thanks for that but didnt seem to help my mate, found out what happened, he got an unlocked iphone ( the first one ) and tried to update livetunes but i guess o2 dont update unlocked phones and his has locked itself, can anyone help? im guessin others have had this happen, any help would be much appreciated

 

I think it's more a case of him updating the iPhone to version 2.0 firmware via iTunes, and part of this process requires it to try and activate the phone again, which is where it's failing.

What he needs to do is unlock and/or jailbreak the phone again. I'd suggest that he goes here and downloads Pwnage 2.0.1, then go here and read the tutorial for using Pwange.

Ziphone software will unlock and jail break a iphone and also install the installer app on the phone. I done it on an iphone i had.

 

ZiPhone can also cause serious problems that a one button solution just can't fix. I've spent a long eight hours recovering an iPhone.
