I've got a coax fron the output in my sky box to the aerial outlet but the picture is really bad. Any ideas anyone?? alistair 01 July 2008, 14:20 It's pretty straight forward, but can be messy.... You take the aerial outlet & run the cable from there to every room. Typically you'd run a single cable up to the loft, then put some sort of signal amplifier there and then run a cable to every room. The better quality the co-ax cable you use, the better picture. Typically builders use the cheapest cable..... Another factor is channel interferance, you can change the channel that Sky outputs to using the installers menu - press 4 then 0 then 2 and enter. Tarkers11 01 July 2008, 14:50 Nice one, cheers. I'll try it. richardg 02 July 2008, 11:02 here's a diagram of mine - aerialcabling.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b307/rg194/Home/?action=view¤t=aerialcabling.jpg) HTH :thumb: rdraper 02 July 2008, 11:06 The link to the diagram dosent appear to work! Tarkers11 02 July 2008, 18:40 Nice one, cheers mate. I've done it now but the picture is rubbish to say the least. Compared to what ? and on what TV ? Picture won't be as good as a direct connection with HDMI, Component, SCART or SVideo, but should be watchable - I run my boxes to a couple of other rooms and it's OK. Are your connections good ? no stray strands of the outer mesh touching the inner core etc ? Did you use decent co-ax ? alistair 02 July 2008, 22:54 tvLINK - The complete In-home Distribution Solution (http://www.tvlink.co.uk/) Those prices look pretty good. The 4 way (http://www.tvlink.co.uk/spc4.htm) combiner looks excellent - shame I found it too late. I've had to run 3 separate infra red systems just so that I could remotely switch channels on 3 different Sky+ / HD boxes :( rdraper 03 July 2008, 09:45 Few other choices on here. Amplified splitters, Loft Boxes and Wall Plates (http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page15.htm#loftbox1) Tarkers11 03 July 2008, 11:13 I have now sorted this and its all go. However I have now tried to put one of those digi eyes in the bedroom. It does not work on the bedroom tv but works on the tv in the spare room. Any ideas? The spare room is a normal crt tv and the bedroom one is lcd. Hanley 07 July 2008, 09:09 Are both TVs tuned into the same channel?? I think Sky normally outputs on 21 or 68?? Tarkers11 08 July 2008, 10:15 Yeah channel 68. Done it now cheers for the help.... Slap Head 08 July 2008, 20:42 The Sky box can be set to output on any channel between 21 & 69 (IIRC) but do remember the 1 & 5 rule. Whatever channel you choose cannot be either 1 or 5 channels away from any existing signals, otherwise you will still suffer interference |
