View Full Version : Sealing soil pipes in DPM - how?

Bit of a numpty question, but I've no idea how this is done!

When you see a new building, where the soil pipes come up out of the floor, how do they seal the DPM where the pipe passes through it before turning to go out under the wall?

I always assumed DPMs shouldn't be pierced, but how else does the pipe pass through?

Feel free to post pics if you have them - it's just been in the back of my mind & I thought I'd ask! :)

The DPM gets cut enough to let the pipe through then another bit of DPM lapped round the pipe to stop the concrete getting through

I haven't poked around on a building site since I was a kid; back in the days of open, unfenced pits and not a yellow jacket & hard hat in sight! :)
