I am thinking about getting a property to let. I've got about £14000 as a deposit so can get a buy to let mortgage of about £90000.
Is this a wise investment or would it be better to pay off my own mortgage?

Is it better to get a house local or dosn't that matter? New or old?

Is it best to use a letting agent? if so are they all good or are some crap?

What are the tax laws on this and does it mean I will have to fill in loads of tax forms every year.

Anyone got any good or bad stories on letting?

Anything I missed?

Thanks Matt.
