Looking to get my hands on a Battery grip for my 350D. On E-bay they all appear to be coming from China / Hong Kong.

I'm sure this has been asked before but how safe are these purchases?

I've had a few with no problems, including a non-Canon grip for my 5D, which for 1/3 of the price was a bargain.
I'm not sure I'd buy an expensive camera due to warrenty claims, but smaller items I would

Same here, couple of lenses with no problem, had to pay duty on the big one.

I used Kea-Photo both times but any of the prominent ones with thousands of feedback should be ok.
You get negatives but I bet if any high street store polled every customer, they wouldn't get near 100%.

I've only ordered a flash lead from Hong Kong (from Digital Rev on fleabay) and it came through no problem in about 5 days, so I was pretty impressed.

If it's any help, I got my grip from Kerso.

DigitalRev and urgalaxy I have used quite a few times, always very quick service, and no problem with customs or any of the lenses and accessories

Battery Grips are a funny one, lots of cheap ones out there, but on the Canon forums they reckon its the one accessory you should definately make sure is a Canon one

The non Canon ones, tend not to fit quite right, or have the same feel and dont seem quite so rugged, buy cheap buy twice is the general consensus for Battery Grips on the Canon Forums

Im still waiting for one for mine and have avoided buying the 3rd party ones, although I heard a rumour that it is opteka (IIRC) that actually make the Canon ones, but only seen those available in the states

I have a genuine Canon one that I doubt I'll ever need. I bought my 350D secondhand and it came with it. Make me an offer if you're interested !
