Hi, got woken up up at 7am this morning when the house alarm went off - looked out the window first to make sure the RB5 wasn't being driven out of the garage of course...

Turned out to be a battery fault in the control box (according to the fault code) I assume it just needs a new back up battery from Maplins or somewhere but I think the alarm will go off if I take the cover off etc. Anyone know if this is what will happen? Is there an override code that an alarm engineer would use ?

Thanks.

When my battery dies I just get a low level bleep to tell me it needs changing, usually about every 4-5 years.

When you remove the cover the anti-tamper will kick in, for my unit I just enter the same code+#. You may be able to download the instruction manual from the web for specific details on your unit.

Cheers for this - just went for it in the end - took the fuse out of the mains feed to the control box, opened it, tamper alarm went off, cleared that and then got new battery at Maplin - job done.
