Have taken down a huge mirror (5"x4") from our bathroom recently and now need to dispose of it.

Apart from the hammer trick,is there another way to cut it up to manageable car sizes to transport it to the tip?

Is the glass toughened? If not will a normal glass cutter plough its way through it?

Cheers

drag it outside on the grass or on a tarpaulin, get some nice brown carpet tape and pretend its a massive parcel that u need to cover, but leave some long gaps in some places.....then get a hammer and smash it up, roll up the tarpaulin, or fold up the stuck broken glass, and dispose of :)

or sell it, seems like too nice of a big mirror like that to break up mate??

If it's in good condition, sell it, it's worth good money.

Otherwise, do as above.

It will not be toughened so a normal glass cutter will do the trick , It maybe safety backed so after cutting the mirror side with the glass cutter , Tap from behind & it should run down the line you habve cut ;)

If it is safety backed run a stanley knife down the backing to get apart
