A few shots of common and not so common birds, spotted and photo-ed by me over the last month.
Little Owl - local to me, near Alvechurch, Worcs. Kindly flew into a tree with the sun behind me, and then peered out and down at me for a few seconds, before disappearing into another tree.

Cirl Bunting - can only see these in a handful of areas, mainly in SW England, and this was taken on Berry Head, near Brixham in Devon.

Swallow - resting on a window ledge of an abandoned boat house, up a creek in Cornwall, on the River Fowey.

Cormorant - close up to see its wonder eye, this swam past the hide at a local reserve. Soon swam off when all the shutters started firing! :lol1:

Dunlin - I was very lucky to have a flock of these, and sanderlings, running about the beach next to me, as I crouched at the edge of a links course. They were actually too close to photo easily, as they keep moving around, and the light was terrible. Taken on the beach at Dawlish Warren, Devon.

Kestrel - we'd had a 4 hour storm the night before, and this chap was drenched. The light was grim that morning, with cloudy white skies, but fortunately the kestrel allowed me to get pretty close to take its photo. This was in Dawlish Warren too.

Female Stonechat - there's a patch of heathland next to Yarner Wood, which always has stonechats on. Was just a waiting game to get one close enough for the pic. Yarner is on the edge of Dartmoor.

Stonechat - Also at Yarner, but a male this time.

Canada Gosling - Just love the atmosphere of this; a perfect Spring shot.

Redstart - A very productive walk around Cannock Chase on Saturday resulted in seeing 7 pairs of these wonderful woodland birds. First ones I have seen.
