You lucky, lucky *******!
Am also going for the rally (and a bit of nuburgringinginginging?).
Any tips for me too?
rallymad_homer 30 June 2008, 13:45 Cheers Giles...
Is it me or does nobody post/read the WRC section anymore ? It used to be buzzing with all things WRC... Whats happened. When WRC Germany came around each year there would be a 5-10 page thread of whos going etc, but now, nothing.
Are people just not bothered any more ?

bluecorolla 12 July 2008, 16:39 Hi Folks
We heading down to Germany too. Just spent about 2 hours on net doing route planners etc. The official site is quite good, info on tickets, timetable and camp sites nearby (we are camping so hoping for some sun).
However the stage info is limited just vague maps. As above can anyone recommend good view points, especially in the vineyard sections.
Tunnel booked and looking forward to our road trip, my other half cant wait to drive the autobahns.
Cheers
Denise
scooby276blue 12 July 2008, 17:04 Hi all,
Me and the wife are travelling down to the ring from Gutersloh on the 10th Aug, we are doing the ring for the two days, we are also booked in with rally travel, looking forward to it,
But we have to leave on the sunday missing the last day of the rally as we are back to work on the monday.
Only couple of weeks togo and i cant wait,
Hope to see you all there
As long as you get to the stages soon enough, you can't really go wrong! I don't think we've had a bad spot in the time I've been going....think this is year 4 for me. We aim to be on stage 2 hours before the first car is due. We also take chairs and form a little camp with our bags suitably placed to keep Gerry out..Gerry aren't shy about pushing in, in front of you at the last moment, watch out for that!
For the start, you can usually get up close with the crews if you go around the back of Porta Nigra but it gets busier every year. Parc Ferme is just up the road from the Primevera, well worth a look.

have a peek over the SIDC site for more technical information.

carter x 16 July 2008, 16:23 We are going again (tickets arrived today):luxhello: been every year it`s been run in the WRC its a great event,
stages that are worth seeing are Ruwertal,Moselland on Friday
Bosenberg,Birkenfelder Land on Staurday (or spend the Day at Panzerplatte)
Dhronal on Sunday
It is very easy to see 3 stages a day if you want, we have only had 1 cancelled stage in the last 6 years and no traffic problems to call any.
Most british fans always find there way to the irish bar every night as well as the Ford & Subaru teams.....:)
rallymad_homer 16 July 2008, 16:36 23 days until the mother of all road trips starts !!! cant bloody wait

rallymad_homer 29 July 2008, 17:29 Went to get the scoob servivced today ready for WRC Germany.....came out alot of money lighter !! and i dont mean the price of a service. Bought a new 08 STI, pick her up on sat.
I didnt see that coming at 9am when i dropped her off....They gave me an 08 sti as a courtesy car, after a short blast to whitby and back i promptly drove to the garage and sat at the mans desk, pointed out side and said "i want that one!" he did have a chuckle. But what a car, completely different to my 04 sti. Cant wait to pick her up !!!
days to go are few until germany !!
