Default 2nd time I've been ripped off on here

As above, can't believe some people. Second time on this forum a genuine user has ripped me off FFS.

1st time I swapped some lexarse rear lights (good move I know) for some STI rears plus £50 from the guy..

Got the lights from him but not the £50! Lot's of excuses later and no money ever appeared. Obviously just a coont as he was a genuine member here etc.

Now my latest one was buying a steering wheel off someone back in early November 2007!!

No steering wheel after months (told lost in post in march) agree'd refund and still waiting after various excuses..

I've never been like this to people, makes me soo fookin annoyed.

Hate it when this happens, ive been in this situation a couple of times and it just leaves you out of pocket and generally feeling pretty ****.

its a board of enthusiasts you would expect more gentlemanly conduct, sadly not always the case.

Sadly, enthusiasts are easily duped by the unscrupulous....

It's just the way it goes these days.

IMHO

I must take this oppotunity to apologise........................

..0000ps wrong forum...it wasn't me..
On a serious note,I've seen it happen on other forums but it usually as the seller/buyer is leaving the fold, unbeknownst to the other parties.
Give 'em another chance to right it,if they don't then name them for our mutual benefit..

Personally mate, I wouldn't buy anything from someone who wasn't a full member. At least then webby will have a paper trail for them that can be used if the law gets involved. Also, if they've bothered to pay to get access to the site, chances are they like the place and don't want to be ousted as a fraud!

I've had 3 transactions on here: all with well established, paid up members and haven't been bitten yet. There are some good folks on SN

I saw exactly the same happened to someone the other day but one of the mods closed it saying keep the disputes offline. Personally I think the mods should try and be a bit more helpful.

As new scooby 04 has said there are some good folk on here (I sold him his FMIC), I treat this place as I treat ebay, If the deal looks too good to be true it normally is. I try to do some home work on the seller ie Looking up old post, checking out there profile and the number of post gives you an indication how long they have been around and what type of person they are.

I've bought and sold plenty of stuff on here over the years and never had a problem but then again I wouldn't buy anything off someone with only a few hundred post that they have done in the muppet section.

I've just had a set of defi's off member this week, paid money into his account and they arrived the next day.

Personnely I think you should name and shame both parties. Perhaps scooby net can have a section where bad user profiles are availble to view to avoid being stung.
