What is the best wheel cleaner to use for completely removing built up brake dust ?
I was using Meguiars Hot Rims All wheel cleaner(think that's what it's called) but found Simoniz wheel cleaner and brake dust barrier was better.
The problem is i've got little black spots of brake dust that is stuck to the wheels and I want something that can remove this easily without damaging the wheels.
Any ideas ?
You could try a clay bar for the stubborn spots. Once they're clean give them a coat of Swissvax Autobahn Wheel Wax.
Werkstatt prime strong might work too ?? Bit of elbow grease needed though.

That seems quite aggresive tho, to use all the time.
Interested to see what pb recommend for regular use as i also get the same problem.

you mix it mate so its as aggresive as you make it.
PB will recommend Menzerna Gel 7.5 Wheel & Tyre Cleaner - Menzerna Car Care and Detailing Products (http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/menzerna-gel-7-5-wheel-and-tyre-cleaner-wheels.html) but you may need the acid cleaner to get the 1st load of brake dust off
(top of the class :p asked the Q before)

Lol, agreed. My preference would be to get them properly clean the first time round with something like Wheel Brightener cut 4:1, and then seal them with either Werkstat Prime Strong or Poorboys Wheel Sealant, before then going on to clean them regularly with either normal suds or the above pH neutral gel; normal suds is best, but on cars that yield a lot of dust, then the gel will offer more cleaning power, and won't strip the protection too badly. :)

Just to add, i use the autosmart tardis to remove tar spots if the wheel brightener or super degreaser doesn't. before finally sealing with a good few layers of pb wheel sealant.
time spent getting them right is time well spent. makes it loads easier in future. :thumb:
