Question

Is this normal? The inside edges of the fronts have worn bald after 12k miles and the outside edges still have 5mm tread. Standard 17" PZeros. Rears fine with even wear. Handling is great.
What wear pattern do other P1 owners get...is this normal and just down to neg camber and geometry or do I need to go round corners faster (yeah - right!) to wear the outsides to match???

Oh dear!
sounds like your tracking or 4 wheel alignment/geometry is out.

Are these the original tyres/on the car new from the new/dealer, if so i would get them to check it and replace the tyres as the car alignment was not right from day 1

whateve the outcome the alignment/tracking needs sorting beofre you get new rubber or the same is likely to happen

Got exactly the same symptoms....Front insides worn,5mm on outside, P-Zeros, and done 12500 miles on them. But I was told that was normal for Scoobys????

Strange thing is the car feels fine with no pulling or vibration through the steering wheel etc.

Maybe I'll check it now though

Tony

Edited to say My car is STi V5 Type-R if that matters

I have the opposite problem... I have done 22,000 miles on my first set of types (P1 - orignal Pzeros) and STILL have even wear with ~5mm tread remaining!!! Unfortuneately I do mostly fast road driving, only occassionally on 'B' roads, but try the hard cornering on any unsuspecting roundabouts as and when I can. Can't wait to replace with some better rubber (wet roads) such as TOYO's, and maybe get to go for a track day.

The tyres will wear evenly if the set-up is right, so this should be checked out. It should be noted that tyres are best rotated (front to back) every 6000 miles or so, in order to ensure even front / rear wear.

One problem, I have just got is wheel shudder at around 80mph. This is since I had the Prodrive brake upgrade fitted - obviously those huge disks are out of balance!!! Is there a remedy for this?
