Does he being anything different than John Terry,Rio Ferdinhand or Steven Gerrard FlightMan 31 May 2008, 17:34 Does he being anything different than John Terry,Rio Ferdinhand or Steven Gerrard Of course he does. :Whatever_ Way more tatoo's! :thumb: 16vmarc 31 May 2008, 17:50 It isn't going to affect the way the rest of the team plays. As long as Capello continues to select the players from his current selection I don't think it really matters who captains the country. As Ferdinand said, there should be 11 captains out there!!! I don't mind who captains England, be it Beckham, Ferdinand, Gerrard, Barry or someone else, just so long as it isn't Terry! :p G-STAR 01 June 2008, 12:11 Sky Sports | Football | News | Beckham to skipper England (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3633480,00.html) A backward step imo Not really. I think it's fair to say he'll not be given the role permanently, but he's as deserving as any of the four to be given his opportunity in the initial rotation. Funkii Munkii 01 June 2008, 12:25 Of course he does. :Whatever_ Way more tatoo's! :thumb: :lol1: He's played no worse than anyone under Capello imho, he'll be 35 come the time of the WC, too old ? possibly playing in the U.S. Sunday league he plays in will actually help him survive that long. Bookies have terry as favourite to be the next full time Capt, with Rio 2nd favourite, worth a punt on Rio I think. Craigo86 01 June 2008, 14:35 I think Capello gave the Captains armband to Becks because its the anniversary (100th) of the Trinidad and Tobago national side - Not exactly sure how true this is but i read it somewhere and Jack Warner's (Some Fifa Bigshot) name was mentioned aswel.......:wonder: scoobynutta555 01 June 2008, 14:40 As Ferdinand said, there should be 11 captains out there!!! If he did say that the bloke's an utter burk. 11 players telling each other what to do and so on, a nightmare. Abdabz 01 June 2008, 15:32 a pathetic PR stunt to appease the CONCACAF tosser in a bid to help our world cup lobbying for 2008. Capello is clearly a victim of Barwick and co showing exactly who is in charge when it comes to balancing team affairs and politics... 16vmarc 01 June 2008, 19:07 If he did say that the bloke's an utter burk. 11 players telling each other what to do and so on, a nightmare. The mentality of a captain, the pride that goes with it. Not every player mouthing off! scoobynewbie72 01 June 2008, 19:34 With most of the senior players(well those that played in the Champions league final) all going on Holiday he is the most probably senior player on the pitch amongst the youngsters, There may be a call for one of the youngsters take the captaincy but that would really be kicking sand in his face then, he has been playing pretty well for england in the role he has been asked to do, so why not ? G-STAR 02 June 2008, 10:50 a pathetic PR stunt to appease the CONCACAF tosser in a bid to help our world cup lobbying for 2008. :D Abdabz 02 June 2008, 16:25 :D OI LOIKES ARRRMADILLOS!!! 2018  :lol1: |
