SwissTony 30 May 2008, 13:11 loads of spoilers in there...a big **** off one on the scoob :thumb:
Borat_Drives_A_Scooby 31 May 2008, 13:35 Great news for Petter with both Ford`s having a nigthtmare with one thing and another, both Ford`s had suspension probs yesterday, today Latvala has lost turbo boost and is dropping time hand over fist, Hirvonen has had mechanical probs plus i think he he`s been off.
If Petter keeps it together along with the car he has a more than realistic chance of getting a podium finish, Atkinson is still running but he is totally out of the reckoning as he is in about 15th position and miles behind.
Distinguished Gentleman 31 May 2008, 13:44 Aitkinson has retired with electrical problems so 5mins get added to his time for each subsequent stage. He is doing super rally tomorrow
DG
Borat_Drives_A_Scooby 31 May 2008, 13:51 Rally leader Dani Sordo has got a massive problem here for SS12 and onwards, he had a puncture at the end of SS11 but also one of his other tyres is badly de-laminated..... Obviously they only carry one spare, they interviewed him on wrc rally radio and he isn`t sure whether he will make it to the end of the next stage never mind the end of the day.
Latvala just dropped around 4 mins on that last stage with turbo boost problems (Actuator prob), good luck to Petter as this would be a great result for Subaru. He is actually catching Loeb on his current pace.
Distinguished Gentleman 31 May 2008, 21:09 End of day 2 and Petter 2nd !! Whatever next, a win maybe:)

This car is going to really compete with the citroen's and ford's:luxhello:
About time too:) :)
shippy 01 June 2008, 05:55 Petter down a few seconds on Loab, hopefully he will hold out for second:norty:

Yeh its a superb result on debut and a great drive from Petter, i think its best to be realistic though as lets not forget that rally leader Dani Sordo dropped out of the reckoning with severe tyre problems and a both Fords had a rally to forget with problem after problem.
We need a few more rallies to see where we are at with the new Impreza WRC, a tarmac rally will give a better idea of the pace of the car.

That's what rally is all about though, getting your car to the finish.....quickly! :wonder: :lol1:
Solberg and Atkinson have been high up in the standings in previous rallies only to go out with problems etc. there wasn't any mention then about how lucky the Fords or the Citroens were because of the problems the Subarus had
BMWhere? 02 June 2008, 11:06 Well done Petter and SWRT! Great result for the first outing!
Acropolis rally is a real car breaker. If you push too hard you will destroy your tires & suspension. Its all a matter of restraint - I'm sure the car could have gone faster but then it wouldn't have made it to the finish! Leob also took it pretty slowly from the start and until Hirvonen held up Petter in his dust, there was little difference between Solberg and Leob!

Borat_Drives_A_Scooby 15 June 2008, 12:56 Like i said above, we shouldn`t get carried away with the Acropolis result as we need a few more rallies to find out where the new rally car stands as far as pace goes.
Petter said he had a trouble free rally in Turkey yet the car was almost 3 minutes off the pace of the winner and light years away in rally terms of a top 3 finish. Danny Sordo had suspension problems, tyre problems and yet he still managed to finish in front of the new Subaru WRC.
We need to be realistic here like i am trying to be unlike some of those who posted above, i wouldn`t expect the car to be fully competetive until at least Rally GB and at the min it is light years away from Ford and Citroen, its probably futher off the pace than the old car was at present.
