I'm after some advice on removing some scratches. I have a blob with Obsidian Black metallic gold flake paint.
I have a few hairline scratches around the car and was wondering if there was an easy and inexpensive way of 'blending' them in.

I hear T Cut is a massive NO NO on subaru's. Anyone got any experience and advice?

Theres a decent product that scoobyworld sell that will remove some light scratching, I found it worked ok, alternatively, some poorboys swirlmark remover courtesy of polishedbliss got rid of a fair few defects on mine.

I used some medium abrasive via an applicator pad then buffed with a microfibre, it didn't do a bad job, I thought id try everything tbh b4 having it done proeprly (machined)

If definetely gave the paintwork a new lease of life.

lol...sorry mate...

The poorboys stuff I bought was the medium abrasive one, theres a few to pick from depending how bad you think the scratches are mate.

The applicator pads can be bought from there too (polished bliss) for a couple of quid, there really handy for putting on wax, or other things like the swirlmark remover, you apply them with the pad, then use a microfibre cloth (also on polishedbliss) to buff the wax etc away, bringing out a nice shine :thumb:

I use a terry cloth to dry after washing, then a pad to apply wax etc, then the microfibre cloths to buff up, they really do work a treat.

yes mate, its probably a bit better than poorboys, both are top notch brands though, with regards to car care, always get the best you can, it definetely makes a difference from my experience and opinon.


Ps; Ive got same as you, black/mica (gold fleck) and its an absoulte ar$e to keep looking mint, but when its cleaned up, its the best colour by far IMO.

aye be careful mate, at times I feel like I spot new bleeding scratches everytime I wash the sodding thing! lol

Mind if I join in on the black/mica gold fleck rant? After several hours of polishing with Meguiars 3 stage stuff, I just put the car back in the garage ready for a mega sunny day! BTW how nice does that carnauba wax smell?
